Our Mission: Providing Accessible Housing Solutions for the Vulnerable Amongst Us

Row of Houses

About Us

Our goal is to stop homelessness before it starts. We aim to find resources for people that will help them avert becoming homeless. While our focus is on single-mother families and our immigrant communities, we will do this for as many individuals and families as we can assist

Why we do what we do

The Access Housing Initiative (AHI) is dedicated to tackling the urgent problem of housing instability faced by recently arrived immigrants in Albuquerque. Upon arrival, many immigrants encounter several problems such as language barriers, restricted social networks, and lack of familiarity with local housing options, coupled with long waiting lists and lack of proper documentation to get into housing. These factors often put them at risk of homelessness. However, these challenges can be overcome with the right support and resources. The AHI aims to offer crucial housing resources and support services to help immigrants achieve secure housing and successfully integrate into their new community.

Transition Accomodation

Transitioning into a new living situation is challenging, so we offer short-term housing for young adults, single-mothers, and newly arrived immigrants. Our housing plans all  include basic amenities, and our team provides emotional and logistical support to help with your transition. Our ultimate goal is to empower individuals to create positive and lasting change in their lives.

Overnight Boarding

At our non-profit organization, we recognize the need for a safe and secure place to stay for young adults passing through our beautiful community on their way to great things in in life. Our Overnight Boarding program offers a hot meal and a bed for the night in a welcoming and supportive environment. We're here to provide a helping hand and a compassionate ear when you need it most.
